this looks actually awesome. if it doesn't get murdered by DMCA or other things, it looks like it'll be really fun to play.

Looks fun as forget. I still play Halo PC a lot but the community has been dying slowly for years. Hopefully this game picks up a lot of players.

So much effort for something that will 100% get a cease and desist.
Like there is no doubt.

still pretty rough around the edges, but it has promise

This looks really early, not even alpha stages. I am assuming that due to the lack of walking animations.

You can't infringe anyone's IP rights in your Item.
You can't use any of Microsoft's trademarked logos or names except in the ways described in the pages linked from www.microsoft.com/trademarks.
Which is what worries me.
This can still be used against them, even if they do not use it in the title of their game, they set themselves up to pretty much use these names and IP specific terms and names in their game and/or website.
Though the rules are more lenient then i thought they were.
They are doing their best to avoid any collision, but i still can't help but be worried about the future of this project.

Looks pretty rad, needs work obviously but I'm sure it'll be all fine at release, these guys know what they're doing by the looks of it.

Just for the record, an official channel exists, and also a website

And there was a cinematic trailer released back in May that teases playable Elites (and dual-wielding)

This is actually looking pretty good, especially for the Unity Engine
