Author Topic: --- Ping Help  (Read 837 times)

I know this is a common issue that can usually be resolved by searching things up, but everything I try doesn't seem to work...

I have
  • Port forwarded [correctly?]
  • Ticked 'Disable UPnP' in the settings
  • Turned off my firewall altogether
  • & I don't have an anti-malware program
Is it possible that my ISP has somehow disabled my hosting abilities for whatever reason? forget AT&T
(I'm using an AT&T u-Verse modem/router)

Also, I'm hosting through dedicated but I don't think it makes a difference since in-game hosting results in the same situation...

If I remember AT&T members have this problem often

Are you sure you port forwarded the right IP and port?

  • Ticked 'Disable UPnP' in the settings
maybe you could try enabling upnp? assuming you have a upnp device of course

Tried it out, the server ping still displays as '---'

Yes, although, the router gives the option to just select the PC rather than entering in the static IP.
Right now I have it on the IP because I read somewhere that it's better to do it that way. but I guess I'll have to try the remaining option

Update:
So apparently nothing is helping with the situation. I'm really pissed because I should be able to host a server
just fine. I even had an entire map ready to play but NO the loving ping remains '---' so only barely anyone can join.

Should I contact my ISP? What should I say

Make sure your router is actually opening the port, I would google stuff about your router for help before calling ISP
