my biology teacher in 9th grade told me a story that he had some kids chug the hand sanitizer because they thought it contained, well, alcohol.

they were rushed to the hospital immediately after.

Its stuff unless you let it age.

Yeah but that still doesn't take 30-80 years, wtf? 6-12 months is fine for aging. You can buy wines in stores that taste just fine and are a vintage of only 1-2 years old

The biggest limiting factor here to getting "good stuff" would be the variety of grape.

No, methanol is way to toxic, even just through skin absorption.
Hand sanitizer would be ethanol- or isopropanol-based.

Every hand sanitizer I've checked the ingredients on (which is admittedly few) has been ethanol based. So the concern for ingestion is any other ingredients. See:

--- Quote from: Juncoph on June 10, 2017, 02:08:34 PM ---almost all ethanol products on the market are denatured. denatured ethanol is ethanol that's been contaminated with trace chemicals rendering it unfit for consumption- perhaps it's too disgusting, but usually it's also outright toxic.

the reason these hard-to-remove chemicals are added? consumable alcohol gets alcohol tax.
