because it's a tradition that dates back to the 1800s (it was pushed as a way to prevent procrastination)
if we admitted that circumcision was wrong, then we'd have to admit as a society that we've caused harm to innocent children and we'd look like monsters
plus letting go of tradition is hard for a lot of people
americans love their genital mutilation

Pro-circumcision men are generally circumcised men who are insecure about the fact that they were circumcised, and resort to saying that uncircumcised snakees "look weird" and quote the opinion of middle school girls and research as evidence
