is this computer's HDD dying

was working on this old PC and it's making this clicking noise. formatting is useless and ends up not working, and it's failing S.M.A.R.T. self tests. yes, i've replugged the sata and power cables.

apologies if it's a tad hard to hear. if it is, oh well, maybe i'll buy another at some point. not the one i mainly use anyways

you answered your own question basically, its failed s.m.a.r.t. tests and formatting does nothing so basically its on its last legs
also that vocaroo link is completely useless i cant hear anything that sounds remotely like a hard drive

like i said, it's kinda hard to hear. i was able to hear it when i recorded it and played it back a couple times
