Author Topic: What bungie halo game was the best?  (Read 2712 times)

halo 3 was the last and best as far i as i'm concerned.

Halo: Forerunners and halo: 343-gives-itself-a-high-five-for-"innovating" are complete garbage and at best stuffty spin-offs

the only halo games ive played are combat evolved and 4 so combat evolved

I thought all of them were Bungie.
Any Halo after Reach was created by 343 Industries

tie between combat evolved and odst
reach is "we're gritty and deep right guys?"
halo 2 and 3's stories are absolute messes
delete these trash opinions

ODST's singleplayer was forgetin A+ but the unenjoyable firefight-only multiplayer and complete lack of matchmaking entirely is a big minus

Halo 2 and ODST are my 2 favorite Bundle titles

Halo 5 has the best multiplayer.

i'd like to mention that, though i have a lot of nostalgia for 3, its also really loving dumb.
>AH YES RECLAIMER LETS FIRE THE HALO TO KILL THE FLOOD
>REEEEEE NO FIRE HALO ITS MINE AAAAA

even then, as stated in halo ce, halo doesn't kill flood. it kills their food and starves them. firing installation 04b would not have destroyed the ark's flood infestation as it does in halo 3. but you know how this couldve been fixed? saying that the ring kills all remaining covenant loyalists and fauna on the ark. the flood starve to death and are defeated. boom.

theres one thing thats just me being nitpicky but it bothers me immensely
where are the separatist grunts and hunters? plenty of grunts and lekgolo colonies werent loyal to the covenant as much as they were loyal to the sangheili, as shown in halo 2. i assume they were removed due to making battlefields a bit messier (assuming halo 3 could even become more of a mess), having both friendly and hostile grunts.
ODST's singleplayer was forgetin A+ but the unenjoyable firefight-only multiplayer and complete lack of matchmaking entirely is a big minus
You also got a bonus disk that had Halo 3's multiplayer and all dlc maps
I would've liked to see how ODST slayer played but its not that big a deal

halo 3
I used to play around in sandbox mode all the time and I did get semi-far in the campaign mode. I've played reach before and it is good, but it has been loving years since I played both games and the last halo game I played was Halo: Spartan Assault and it's stuff.

I'm just glad we can all agree that 4 and 5 suck

except that one guy

he's a forgeter

Reach was amazing. I probably had over 1000 hours on it as a kid back on Xbox 360. I did the same with Halo 3.

Me not being a completionist, Halo 3's the only game i've cared enough to try to fully complete, i'm only missing the Blades of Fury and Save This Film achievements

However, i no longer have my 360 set up, and i don't think Halo 3 (standalone) is backwards compatible because of the Master Chief Collection, so it's probably gonna be uncompleted for a really long time :(

only played reach, CE and a little bit of 3 Multiplayer, so i'm gonna have to say CE

Forge world > all

imo halo reach was a vast improvement on halo 3's mechanics but campaign wise it wasn't as memorable. still, most people spent like 5 hours on halo 3's campaign and like 200+ hours on reach's multiplayer so i'd say reach wins by hours played

Halo 5's Forge is definitely the best in the franchise, but that's the best thing Halo 5 has going for it, unfortunately

I hope Halo 6 will be a return to the Halo we once knew and loved, 343i did say that the Spartans won't look like Power Rangers and that there will be split screen in any new Halo game that comes after 5 at least, i just hope the game itself turns out better than 4 and 5 have

343i has A LOT of stuff to explain, connect, adjust, and probably even remove some things here and there, they're probably gonna have a lot more books and such for all that and save the bigger stuff for Halo 6, but i just wonder if they'll actually be able to pull it off AND make a Halo game that won't disappoint people, probably for the last time, seeing as people have said that they lost faith in 343i right after Halo 4, and especially after 5
