chickens also stink.. alot.
they don't clean themselves like other birds and are really agressive to humans who go near their coop if they have not seen them before/in a long time

There's soy-bacon for sale that's genuinely indistinguishable to real bacon. We did a test at a party one time because we were really impressed with it where blindfolded people tried to guess which was real and which was soy, but it was about 50/50. Interestingly, beef (the most environmentally destructive meat on the planet responsible for 75% of rainforest deforestation) was mimicked flawlessly by a completely vegan seaweed burger--indistinguishable from true beef in side-by-side studies. It never caught on because people subconsciously thought it tasted worse than genuine meat once they were told it was made from seaweed. There's good evidence to suggest perfect vegetarian chicken will be available soon. Unfortunately Octo-tofu hasn't really caught on, nor has fish-tofu, and whether fishing is particularly inhumane or not is really still up for debate.

They're probably mean because most of them are like miniature pearoosters subject to frequent abuse and concentration camp-esque conditions. I've met domesticated chickens at friend's houses who were extremely playful and sweet, though they were raised with people from the time they were chicks.

well i mean so do cattle and pigs but they're just naturally docile and cute and i actually feel bad when eating steak or pork which is getting rarer and rarer

im a firm believer in hunting for food as that's a more natural way of doing things but unfortunately I live in vegas so doing that isn't much of a possibility. i imagine coyotes aren't very tasty. never had quail though, but quails are cute i'd feel bad

i've had veggy patties before and the ones we have here stink... not even like beef.
they don't have the texture or moistness of beef and taste really off, like it's not hamburger meat or it's mixed with something so i can't really get into it
