After pasting a pic on a new layer on paint.net, I can't use the line tool.

As above in the title, after pasting a pic on a new layer on paint.net, I can't use the line tool. I can, but the line is white and not visible. The color i'm using is black, by the way.

seems like you've got something selected and aren't in the selection or you're just not seeing what you're drawing because it's behind your new layer

I think your right about something being selected, the picture is highlighted, but I don't know how to unselect it.

Ignore this topic, the picture was selected, and all I had to do was ctrl+d, thanks for the help anyway.
