it's probably never going to happen. the eu serves more as a centralized economic regulator that prevents countries from collapsing in on each other in times of market crashes. it also sets up legal boundaries on stuff like mining, agriculture and development.
objectively leaving the eu is only necessary if half of the countries are economically failing. otherwise, prematurely exiting the union will put extreme pressure on the remaining countries & whatever one or two countries are failing. if france leaves the union, it'll weaken it and prompt the eu to completely disband. once that happens, they'll probably form some other centralized system since centralizing is always the most safe and secure action any country can take
if the un or nato were to somehow collapse, that would be a global disaster. we probably wouldn't feel the effects of it, but like 90% of the world would
