you quickly exit the car and run into the bagel shop, but tom is nowhere to be found. the person at the counter said he left about 10 minutes ago, out the front door, and no, hes definitely not in the bathroom. almost by coincidence a guy leaves the single-room bathroom, and he's startled by you staring at him, making sure he's not tom.
tom came in for his bagel about 15 minutes ago, you figured he was going to the bathroom or reading news or something.

tom should've heard it on his radio too i'm sure if he's in trouble he'll call for us
get a shotgun from the police cruiser and call for him on the radio to tell him to get to the bank

you leave the bagel shop to find the streets deserted, and you hear sirens in the distance. that gay ass queer dude passed by long ago, you doubt hed still be around to interrogate anyways, but maybe you can next time you see him, after you die. if you wake up, that is.
the other dude who left the restroom also leaves the shop, he heads down the street away from the bank. thats good you guess
you grab your shotgun from the car, and look towards the bank. from your angle down the street, you cant see in through the windows, plus its like 200 feet away. plus the noon shadows isnt doing you any good, outside is way too bright to look inside properly. theres no parked cars just outside the bank, and none between your vehicle and the bank. theres a few across the street from the bank though.
probably should bring the car down and use it as cover, but maybe the criminals already know you're there. wonder if they'd shoot you as you came close, but you're guessing they wont fire first as that means your backup will have clearance to shoot them dead.

either way it doesnt really sound like anything is going on, the streets are pretty quiet apart from the sirens. then a block down someone opens an apartment window and blares loud stuffty rap music. great.
