The oldest one means they did it the fastest and thus are probably more credible than other news sources. It takes time to edit and adjust stories to your liking, kind of like CNN does. Then it has to get approved and all that jazz, and if it can get past the approval system and is deemed the one that would make the news station the most money while also giving the public what they want and having some of the actual story in it too, I think it would be pretty convincing.
