Because when you hold shift for ] it becomes }. It's to convey unprofessionality or something. It's like typing !!!11!!1!!one!!!eleven!!! but for [NEWS] instead of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason they want to convey whatever it's supposed to convey, I don't know
