UK trying to force research sites to prove their users are 18
PhantOS:
allowing vulnerable people to do things that will negatively affect them is objectively bad. this is why we reject gun licenses for people with a history of abuse and violence. it's why we don't let minors drink alcohol. there are a handful of people who can maturely handle addictive substances, and a handful of people that can't. just because you are part of the first category doesn't mean that the second category doesn't exist.
if you want to compare this to the "violent video games ruin our christian children!!!" bullstuff, by all means do so. laws are usually made according to the common good, not your personal opinion on why violent video games don't affect you personally

finally brits do something decent. this is a first.

i mean, david cameron tried to get all ISPs to block researchsites by default, requiring you to ring up your isp and tell them to stop censoring you. i guess it didn't work very well tho lmao

You do realize extensive research has been done into the "video games promote bad behavior in gamers" claim and has been found to be patently false?
Here's one article

Videogames don't create sociopaths.
