--- Quote ---Those children who spend more time playing games might be slightly likelier to be hyperactive and to get into fights. But violent video games seem to have no effect on behavior, according to British researchers.

its patently true that video games have some negative affect on people playing them, as any substance has a negative effect when abused. this doesn't mean that video games are automatically bad, but it can prove to be addictive and interfere with daily activities.

everything is bad for you in excess. sugar, video games, television, sports, anything. however, there are certain things more prone to abuse, which makes them more likely to be managed. video games aren't in the same magnitude as say, alcohol or gambling, but it's significant enough to prompt a rating warning on the label, helping parents guide what could affect their kids

all studies on the affects of video games, research and television always prove mixed reviews. there's no "video games are evil and should not be played" or "video games are fine and everyone should play it". even in the articles you linked, they do share that there's not long term damage, but kids who play more video games prove to be slightly more aggressive, a negative impact. universities have studied the affects of research on children and have found that, although procrastination is a perfectly healthy bodily function that relives stress, excess of research leads to depression, higher chance of riskier behaviors, loveual abuse, etc.
