JS series for Jackson ranges anywhere from $200 -300. They come in various colors and orientations and I've heard many good things from them from die hard Jackson players that go way back to the 80's. If you wanna pay a little more you can try out the x series which cost anywhere from $500-900 but most of them are in the $500-700 range. The x series usually comes with brand name pickups like EMG and Seymour Duncans and Floyd Rose Specials just to name a few specs. If you don't wanna forget with guitar center or Sweetwater you can try Reverb.com they always have great deals on new and used gears from amps to guitars and in between.

Oh I know I love Sweetwater especially their candy bags and their dedication  I'm just saying there is other options like the used market.

i don't like used guitars. you don't know exactly what has been done with it and how well it was taken care of.

There are too many guitars out there. A ridiculous amount, and they keep manufacturing more and more. You could probably buy a good axe on Craigslist from someone that bought it and then gave up on it. The same goes for amps. Buying new is cool but it's silly to ignore the used market unless you don't care about money much.
