the emoji movie is out, and the reviews are about as you expect

yeah i kinda dislike how the reviews dont rag on it, and rather make snide puns.
the best review by far is vox's which actually goes in depth into why its just so stuff overall, and second best is new york times for keeping the puns (somewhat) tasteful and restrained

except its actually not entertaining - its just a giant advertisement that actually fails at advertising by having the advertisement so blatant and obvious, and also unlike foodfight (which is so unbelievably bad its good in that you get a good laugh out of the CGI), this movie is so mediocre-bad that its not fun to watch at all
edit: i did a talk with a couple discords about what was better: emoji movie, foodfight, or birdemic. birdemic won because it was actually so bad it was hilarious, and emoji movie isnt fun to watch at all, and at least foodfight gives you a good laugh

if a movie is ever remembered for anything it's for being either decent, and likeable to some, or being ridiculously bad (sharknado)
