stop making all these half assed excuses and just be transparent and say 'hey i'm okay with a slave owner with no redeeming qualities being kept around as a glorified statue'

they are influential people but they're not good people by any means. alexander the great was an influential figure that people don't keep loving glorifying busts of lying around because he also loving executed thousands of civilians whenever he conquered them
there are definitely statues and paintings in museums and other educational/historical sites, and it'd be fine if the robert e lee statue were moved to a museum for educational purposes
