retail cost of ink is also way inflated. think of those plastic pens which you can get 20 of for a dollar. maybe not under a dollar but pretty goddamn cheap compared to how much they sell for.

I think there's a difference in types of ink, but then you have to add the cost of how it's packaged.

Important part, though, is retail vs wholesale price.
