That's the cruel reality of nature though. Animals slaughter each other too. Why is it only bad when we do it? You don't see anyone crying about carnivores murdering other animals because they need food.
And don't pull that 'but we're omnivores' bullstuff. Plants are living organisms too. The fact they can't feel pain is just a stupid thing I hear too often. So it's okay to kill things to eat if it doesn't have a sense of pain? That's handicapped.
