BADSPOT IS most pathetic user in blockland history

and how is our evolution as a species not natural? everything we used to get to where we are now came from nature
--- Quote from: IkeTheGeneric on August 27, 2017, 02:00:11 PM ---The only argument that should be made about inhumane conditions is the argument that unsafe or unhealthy conditions for livestock can propagate disease and bacteria. Until you propose an alternative to livestock slaughter for food output, your opinion is nice and all but we can't really afford to just drop an entire source of food.
If we can produce a cheap alternative to meat and livestock product, we could entertain this idea, otherwise, not really.

but then you see people wouldn't buy it because it wouldn't be 100% meat

We literally can, since as Nonnel said, we would get significantly more food eating what we feed animals. You can very cheaply supplant proteins that are difficult to obtain in plants via a few vitamins that are extremely cheap and easy to obtain. This is the diet with the lowest rate of disease or cancer risk.
We eat meat because it tastes good. Trying to make any sort of argument on the matter is easily debunked.

Yea dude forget people with opinions. Especially those that make major life chances in an attempt to fix things they think are wrong with the world. forget electric cars!

Not an affordable substitute. We eat meat because it's incredibly easy to cultivate. Grains haven't been as easy to cultivate until the late 20th century, and there's still a multitude of factors that makes cultivating enough grain to feed the people that now can't eat meat unfeasible.
Along with this, livestock don't only solely produce meat products, either. There's an entire industry of livestock product that you need to find cheap alternatives to if you want to make any changes. Otherwise, you're just blowing hot air.

If you can afford to choose to not eat something because of it's properties, you probably could afford the incredibly privileged vegan lifestyle to begin with.

Yea, how incredible privileged that I desperately try to avoid consuming something that directly causes mass suffering across the world--living in the region of the US (the South) that consumes the most meat. Are you loving listening to yourself? You're gonna tell me stuff about privilege when 90% of the population can pick from more than 2 items on the menu.

Yea and I thought you weren't a total handicap but I guess we were both wrong.
