You hit it right on the head, Seventh. It's like in Stand By Me, how the whole story of them going to find the body is just a record of a part of the narrator's childhood. It's a strange situation, yet is so nostalgic to him. But after he finishes writing it down, he gets back to the present and takes his kids swimming.
Perhaps an archive of the blf should stay up on badspot.us, a reminder of times gone by.
