I live in ft lauderdale, so we are preparing for it. We are expecting a category 4 because they usually weaken over the islands. Still a cat 4, so I expect there to be a lot of destruction. Last hurricane that hit us was Wilma (cat 3) and it took or chimney off, destroyed our screen, and killed the power for a good two and a half weeks. Luckily a cold front came right after the hurricane so we got lucky it wasn't hot a crap. I remember it being really cold after the thing ended, cloudy, and it smelled really weird outside after. Then I remember hanging out with my friend and he made a pee joke dumping iced tea on the floor, got yelled at by his mom and had to go inside for like 2 days lmao. It was a weird time. There isn't a cold front with this, so it's gonna be miserable. Also, last time Wilma hit the church where I work got destroyed and caught on fire shortly after the hurricane ended. I hope that I am not out of a job if it hits. |
