Bloo Kirby the 2nd:
trust nobody
not even yourself

--- Quote from: aludane on September 04, 2017, 03:28:06 AM ---The Blockland forums was the second forum I took part in. Thankfully the first has vanished from the web. I learnt a number of things here.

1. It's easy to get sucked into a forum clique. The younger you are, the easier it is.
2. It is not the objective of a forum argument to discuss the truth or the matters at hand. Online discussions tend to be full of eristic dialogue and serve only to lubricate one's ego.
3. Anonymity is intoxicating. The way I act here is in no way relatable to the way I behave elsewhere online or indeed offline.
4. There is a herd mentality, a convergence towards a set of opinions, views, actions and so on.
5. A large convergence or following invites a reactionary force. There will be those who view the status quo as if it should not be trusted.
6. Posts age like rotting fish. I regret posting quite a few things here but at the time I wouldn't have cared.
7. Spending a few years away from the forums brings back a bit of needed perspective. I recommend it to anyone who's getting repeatedly banned.

Interesting learnings. But hold up:

Most likely, but I'd like to know what that other forum was about, if I'm not being too intrusive.
