Directors are hired based on their portfolio like artists or any other job that requires it. If he managed to make so much money off of movies he directed in the past, he's more likely to find a job or be hired on the spot than those who make less money off their work.

yeah but i don't think its a good thing for someone to be forcibly fired from their job, unless they like harassed 10 coworkes or had a video leaked of them beating up their child. just being fired because he's a mediocre director is loving stupid because almost all directors are mediocre. even quentin tarantino's average of all movies he made have like a 50 on rotten tomatoes, and he's one of the best directors of all time
