And it’s not like Apple tested their Face ID system to trust it being the replacement for Touch ID on future iPhones. The demo fail explaination was literally on the interface as it happened, showing « Face ID requires passcode to be enabled » meaning the device was restarted shortly before without entering passcode. It was not a reliability issue. EDIT: Apparently, when you restart an iPhone, it explicitly mention that it need to be reactivated after restart.
