I just got another copy of BL off of Steam, and I can't figure out how to get my original key onto the Steam-bought copy. Oh wow I just realized I may have to keep using this new key not that I can do anything about it, anyway.

if you already put a key onto your steam copy then you can't put another one onto there without getting another steam account

there's a way to link a BL key to a steam account, but it can't already be linked to an ID
buying BL on steam links it to an ID
there isn't a known way to unlink an ID (maybe you could refund the steam bought version? not sure if it'll work or not, could just break everything spectacularly)

I think -nosteam makes it authenticate like a normal install but I'm not sure.
