its not even about price, older amd are just WAY WAY to old. your comp will not age well.

Kareem:
After research, 12 gawd damn threads holy stuff. Great recommendation on the the case, Fractal Design and Corsair cases are dope af
Mr Queeba:
like the others are saying, going with an amd fx cpu will be a big mistake especially since it will bottleneck new nvidia gpus. go with ryzen, it's 1000000 times better and it should do well for what you want, especially for editing.

--- Quote from: Pentium on September 17, 2017, 07:45:27 PM ---Whatever you do, do NOT buy an FX series CPU, they're basically pointless since Ryzen is out.

i recommend this build
also,

--- Quote from: Kareem on September 17, 2017, 09:18:57 PM ---Also I have literally NO IDEA on how to install a damn SSD card.

--- End quote ---
you install them just like you would a normal hard drive, they share the same power and SATA cables. depending on your case, you may need to put it into a smaller bracket or screw it into a big bracket tho.

--- Quote from: Kareem on September 17, 2017, 09:18:57 PM ---How many threads does the Ryzen 5 1600 have? No more the better

--- End quote ---
the ryzen 5 1600 has 12 threads which should be plenty
Bisjac:
do games even use more than 4cores+4threads yet?
the bigger ones good for multitasking apps and editing/rendering stuffs though.
