Bethesda seriously cannot write. Fallout 3's story was easier to follow because it was literally point A to B to C until you hit the end but it was hilariously nonsensical. Fallout 4's story loving sucked as well, it's legitimately easier to enjoy the game before you hit the "SYNTHS!!!!!!!!!!!" threshold and the game becomes a sci-fi comedy. NV's story wasn't massively complex but that's probably a good thing. Obsidian's writing talent really comes to life when you pay attention to what's happening around you. In Fallout 4 you're better off ignoring what's around you lest you find a 200 year old child in a fridge, and in Fallout 3 there's nothing to ignore in the first place. |
