ok so there is no way that this guy did not bring in a machine gun to do this. I don't know how long he was firing for, but it seems unlikely that an assault rifle with a drum magazine would be able to injure and kill so many people from that distance

It's not a crazy thought. AK-whatever certainly has the range. Not hard to hit targets at that range when the targets are basically everywhere you're shooting.
Still, my bet's on some sort of soviet belt-fed. Rate of fire seems too variable to be an assault rifle.

a lot of injuries could have came from people being trampled trying to escape the area
