Right. Just have some folks carry their rifles into a concert. That's safe thing to do that Will Never Backfire. But alright, let's assume that somehow that type of security breach is never exploited somehow. Are these people in the crowd supposed to fire upward into a hotel? It's entirely unrealistic to say that having had people with guns at the site of the attack would've made a difference. Maybe in another situation, but not this one.
i like the mental image of hundreds of concert goers all shooting their guns at a hotel building

train all civilians to wield 2 revolvers and scream "twelve shots is all i need" when faced with danger

i don't know a whole lot about it but as far as I'm aware the gist of it is basically to properly train and arm citizens so that they can quickly take down an active shooter, and to support 'mild' gun control legislation such as background checks and mental health checks when applying for a firearm license.
Thanks for answering

Bar any disagreements I have with gun ownership in general, I think the mild gun control legislation would be a good start. My concern with training and arming citizens is that I think that would become a huge liability grey spot. If I shot 10 people by accident trying to take down the attacker, is that on me? I also feel like it would have to be near-military level training to prevent huge casualties from civilians trying to take down the attacker(s) in such a high stress situation.

sorry when did i say people should bring rifles to a loving concert? of course this shooting was pretty much impossible to fight back against. not every shooting happens from a forgetin hotel 32 floors up though. the ability to defend yourself and others is entirely situational and you may not always be able to, but it's nice to have something should the situation where you're able to shoot back arises.

so how could this attack have been prevented?

This is one of the big questions for how to take a 'pro-gun' approach to begin with. I've never really heard any solutions to this one, myself, never mind the other concerns it brings up such as the potential for police forces to misidentify the shooter and nail some random gun-owning civilian in a scenario.

so how could this attack have been prevented?
a large security presence and perimeter.
there's no way the guy should've been let into a hotel with a fully auto weapon, this is a mistake that lies on the security of the hotel and the lvpd for not having a large enough secured perimeter

Getting defensive doesn't answer my question, I'm genuinely curious

Better education and teaching our children more forward thinking morals. If your citizens aren't stupid, understand the value of a human life, and their mental illnesses are treated as an illness and are treated, you won't have Flash Mobers.

so how could this attack have been prevented?

the far left is being radicalized by politicians and media. this is the result.

so how could this attack have been prevented?
gun control

gun control
