I would make some good suggestions but I ride a cruiser motorcycle so unfortunately none of my advice would be useful, best I can offer you is to get a good solid U-Lock and make sure that you keep it in a public spot when you're not riding it.

And one more thing, when you are getting a U-Lock make sure to get one that is more than 15mm in diameter. Only time anybody will be able to cut that is if they either have a welding torch or some industrial-grade bolt cutters.
