In Australia (maybe only NSW), it is compulsory for Year 7 and 8 students to study a second language. I chose Japanese over French (the only two offered by the school) because I felt it would help improve business relationships if I ever got into high-level finance as Australia is getting extremely close with Asia. I wanted to continue Japanese through Year 9 and onwards, but it would have clashed with my other choices, Commerce and Business.
I've pretty much forgotten all I learned since then. Good times though.

Never. I still remember all my exes (even the psycho one) fondly. But it's part of growing up and learning to accept and move on.
