obviously, but 20 packets per store was clearly a gross underestimate of how much people gave a stuff
it's hard to put yourself into the mindset of a mcdonalds marketing exec, but I'm sure they could have exploited this better without spurring the rage of screaming handicaps.

same thing happened when they gave out MLP toys, they ran out but the bronies didnt cause a riot.

Look at this from McDonald's perspective. It was a one off reference in a single episode. This is not a reoccuring joke or a big plot point it was a small reference. McDonald's thought this was just a cute little promotional thing.

It was pretty predictable that this would turn into a 'lines running outside the door' kind of fiasco. I called it days in advance, and I'm not a sales executive.
