--- Quote from: Satan From Wreck-It-Ralph on October 10, 2017, 11:48:21 AM ---so why is catalonia declaring independence again --- End quote --- taxed more than the govt gives back to them (by a huge margin) no cultural ties which would justify this under a single nation bc the catalans have their own distinct culture attempts to hold peaceful referendums were met with police brutality and literal oppression were autonomous for a lot of spanish history but they tried rebelling back in a succession war and their autonomy was revoked under francisco franco the basques, andalusions and catalans were all oppressed in favor of castillian nationalism by now they, and the andalusians, could easily have been combined with pan-iberian culture but the handicaps who ruled aragon followed by spain followed by fascist spain followed by republican spain never really even tried integrating them |
