As a german person I think it's ridiculous that they censor it. Do their history classes just refuse to each about national socialists as well? We learn history so we don't repeat it.
video games are considered toys by german law. art mediums (films, for example) can have depictions of national socialist imagery but video games are not considered an art medium by their law. depictions of national socialist imagery are not allowed in toys, M-rated or not.

I wouldn't buy it simply because it's made by modern-day Bethesda, the political bullstuff is just icing on the cake whether or not it was intentional on Wolfenstein's part. Also, I haven't played but I heard that in the game the kool kids klub and the national socialists are supposedly teamed up? Kind of a strange choice if so since their only common traits are liking whites; seems like some sort of statement (or just creative laziness on their part).

is there any statement about the kool kids klub and national socialists being terrible that you would actually be uncomfortable with or are you just opposed to them embracing the implications of the game in the current political climate

they censored Riddler over in germany
they didn't censor him, they removed his mustache

i agree i have seen like 4 or 5 neo-national socialists annoyed about this. not enough to warrant buying it because "take that national socialists!!!"
it's a good game and you should get it regardless tho

I don't get it.

You can read in the game that the kool kids klub was wary of the national socialists but the Grand Wizard and other higher-ups ultimately realized the national socialists were already in control and that it was in their best interest to go along. Plus, as German power expanded, German nationalism expanded to white nationalism, which isn't totally out of the question.

i'm more concerned with the full-blown national socialist imagery showing up on a nintendo direct but being censored for the steam store
