| Sheepocalypse:
Someone. Help. Me. Please. Ive been trying to fix this for hours. My PC isn't able to connect to the internet or anything. When I diagnose the problem, this is what it tells me. I've tried almost everything Google threw at me. Other devices and computers are fine. --- Quote from: Sheepocalypse on October 12, 2017, 06:22:40 PM --- ALSO, resetting my router WILL fix my internet, but only for like 2 minutes. --- End quote --- |
| Darryl McKoy:
Have you tried turning it off and on again? |
| The Murderous Cop:
1. go to network and sharing center (right click your internet/wifi icon in the tray, it'll be an option) 2. go to Change adapter settings on the left part of the window 3. go to your ethernet adapter, right click it and click properties 4. scroll down to Internet Protocol Version (TCP/IPv4), click that, and then click properties 5. ensure your settings are all set to automatic here. if not, you'll want to do that, this way the router will automatically configure it for you. if it doesn't, it may be a problem with your adapter or your router isn't handling DHCP for some reason (this requires info that's out of my hands) once you've changed it (if you had to), click OK. 6. do step 5, but this time do it for IPv6. click OK when you've set it to automatic. 7. after everything is done, click close. if that doesn't fix it, something is wrong with your network adapter, or, as mentioned earlier, the router isn't handling DHCP and giving out IP leases for some reason. you'll have to look up that info online for your specific router, and fixing that is out of my hands. hopefully i helped |
