The scientologists were right
HellHound:
I'm pretty sure we'll discover extra-terrestrial life in the Solar system, but I dunno about ever finding intelligent life ever; we would have to find aliens with a probe that took a decade to get to a star system (and that's just a fly by - it would take even longer to get there if you wanted to actually orbit the star), wait several years for the data of the probe to get back here, construct a ship capable of housing perhaps 1 generation at the most, and then send it to the star system. It would take like 30-40 years to establish contact.
Kringleberg:
how about radio contact with extraterrestial life, we send some funky waves into space and we get a response?
