Author Topic: How to clean mouse?  (Read 1149 times)

Somehow something sticky (no not that) got under my left mouse button and I need to know if there's a way to clean it without damaging the electronics.

Give it a bath like you w- oh wait, computer mouse i

you could use a toothpick to get under the buttons and get whatever's blocking it up

Find a liquid thats non-ionizing, non-corrosive and non-conducting and pour a bit in there.

drop it in the toilet and give it a flush

rlly tho, take it apart and use a small wet wipe or damp cloth and wipe it down

cotton bud with rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol, don't use any water

After looking closer it appears that the actual clicking mechanism is stuck in place and I don't think I can get it unstuck

you could just take it apart and remove the entire PCB (usually held in by one or two screws), place the plastic parts in a mix of warm water and some dish soap, let them sit over night

just remember to let them dry up properly before reassembly

if the PCB has visible residue you can safely use isopropyl alcohol solution with qtips or something to clean it off, just make sure it's not plugged in

well first get some isopropyl alcoho- oh you mean the animal i
