If people with creepphilic tendencies could seek treatment/help without fear of reprisal I think we'd all be better off. Trying to help potential child enthusiasts to not act on their urges isn't a very popular stance though because it very quickly becomes an emotional argument for most people. Being more punitive (I think) actually detracts from our ability to prevent the act of child abuse because the people who haven't acted on their urges would be even less likely to come forward. |
