Rey is definitely a mary sue. The actor herself also isn't the best either.
On the topic of the prequels why the forget did Lucas make episode 1 about a trade embargo due to over taxation? That stuff is interesting in an encyclopedia, not in a movie, and even if it could be Lucas isn't smart enough to make something like that interesting.

the forget? why the forget do you think people loved Star Wars in the first place? It wasn't a corporate product, it was an incredible adventure with memorably amazing characters and a captivating story with fantastic visuals. The Force Recycled was the opposite of that.
