Author Topic: [blogland] trying to get out of this low state  (Read 11380 times)

Your dignity and allowance aren't going to pay for a new guitar and tons of fancy effects pedals. You have to grow a spine and be a little dishonest in your interview. You're out of your mind if you think that telling an interviewer that you have difficulty accurately taking directions is going to convey a good work ethic and ability to get things done.

this is so loving lame lol. What do you even expect to get out of these threads? Every time somebody gives you valid advice you either ignore it or shoot it down with some lousy defeatist attitude stuff. Sorry but nobody is interested in validating your victim mentality.

Just go tell your doctor that you're physically incapable of not intentionally sabotaging your own job interviews, get your autism certificate or whatever, and cash in on NEET bucks, because until you can actually start listening to what people here are telling you, it's literally your only option.

lying will forget you always in the future. every single white lie i've told ended up screwing me later; of course i'm going to shoot down people who ask me TO LIE.

there has to be another way but lying. you can't tell me the intevierwer can't tell what your saying is blatant suck-up BS.

Padding your interview isn't lying, you're literally supposed to make yourself look good to get hired, otherwise nobody in their right mind will hire the guy who was needlessly brutally honest about the fact that he has no skills.

Besides, you're doing entry-level work. Who cares about whether or not you're the perfect specimen for stacking boxes? You gotta play along with the interviews, even if it doesn't seem genuine.

i have a ton of skills, but not related to anything salary-wise. i'm just saying, if you tell them you're a model worker and you and get stuff done, they'll expect wayyyy more out of you than other employees. you could do it your best and they'd say it's bad.

So you continue to be skeptical of the advice you asked for and continue to tank interviews...

Good luck, that's all I can say.

no, i've never personally witnessed this happening, but my friends tell me about it happening at their stores. albeit was only two times i've heard about it happening, but i'd consider my friends reliable.

and i do have a good work ethic. when i do work with my grandpa or whomever else, i don't stop until it's done and do it right.

Odd jobs for family is a different sort of work ethic. It doesn't take the same kind of gumption required to get yourself out of bed every day for paltry minimum wage for a job you're most definitely going to hate.

The interviewer is looking for people who are going to work the stuffty jobs without freaking out, getting weird about it or just straight up not showing to work. That's the purpose of the interview. I've held jobs and have gone to many a interviews, so I know what I'm talking about.

i'm just saying money is enough to get me out of bed everyday.

It doesn't seem to be enough to get you to get out of your low state however, so obviously there's issues you need to sort out before you can reliably hold a job, because otherwise what's keeping you from securing a job will also probably keep you from holding one.

The solution is simple. Follow the advice given, pad up your interviews to look good and try to do the job you're given without bugging out. If you're working for anything under $15/hr, it's not going to change your life, so don't set yourself up expecting the money train.

Good job there picking on easy targets, I bet you feel really powerful right now lol

You have plenty of Autistic skills

why does your dictionary only include the words "handicapped" or "autistic"? just saying, repeating words is a sign of autism. you may want to get checked out dude; so sorry you're living through that hell.

At least he's trying to make a change. You are an unpleasant person and will probably continue to be one.
