He's not even close to being nihilistic. The ideal nihilist wouldn't let morality hold them back from getting the things they want. He's just being pessimistic.

yeah, nihilism is just the idea that life has no inherent meaning, i.e. there's no ultimate goal. you can be a nihilist and still have a reason to get up in the morning

so yeah here's an update:
i did the interview yesterday. i was told that the position i applied for was already taken so i did an interview for another position. the interview went ok in my opinion, but there were moments where i got so nervous i couldn't think properly.
i'll know what happens by tomorrow possibly.
