i have dedicated performance summer tires which essentially turn into plastic at low temps and the tread just doesn't work in slush
the first snowfall we got last year was in the form of a blizzard starting halfway through my drive home from work. braking did practically nothing, i had to wait for it to stop sliding. accelerating was a joke, choosing gears was confusing, and turning was unpredictable. took 105 minutes (as opposed to 35) to get home
