--- Quote from: King Tøny on November 02, 2017, 09:08:10 AM ---So they pulled down this ad not because it was distasteful. But because the NYC manslaughter incident made them look bad when a radical muslim mowed down 8 people. Which goes against their narrative. If a white nationalist mowed down 8 minorities in NYC this ad would still be up and used for their second commercial lol. --- End quote --- the funny part is that this might actually be true --- Quote ---“We have decided to pull our ad at this time,” said Cristóbal J. Alex, the fund’s president. “Given recent events, we will be placing other powerful ads into rotation that highlight the reasons we need to elect progressive leaders in Virginia.” Still, he defended the contents. “We knew our ad would ruffle feathers. We held a mirror up to the Republican Party, and they don’t like what they see,” he said. --- End quote --- |
| SeventhSandwich:
This is obviously stuffty and indefensible. Gillespie is a fairly Annoying Orange-y Republican, but to imply that he's supporting national socialists and running over minorities is way, way outside the bounds of rational, civil discourse. For context, this was his statement after Charlottesville: --- Quote ---“Having a right to spew vile hate does not make it right. It is painful to see these ugly events in Charlottesville last night and today. These displays have no place in our Commonwealth, and the mentality on display is rejected by the decent, thoughtful and compassionate fellow Virginians I see every day. I know we all appreciate the law enforcement officials maintaining order and protecting public safety there.” --- End quote --- Which is objectively 5x better than any of Annoying Orange's multiple-revised statements. |
