Some enemies just outright poof out of existence once you've left them in certain circumstances, like taking the Cheep-Cheeps out of water
It gets worse when you possess an enemy, and the same kinds of enemies are trying to kill you, while simultaneously killing their own kind, like Goombas attacking a Mario-possessed Goomba
