--- Quote from: Filipe on November 09, 2017, 01:35:26 PM ---To be honest the concept of death always frightened me, due to the fact that one day, I won't exist anymore, I try my best to distract my head from thinking of those things, but sometimes before I go to sleep, it gets in my head and I have a really hard time trying to sleep, which is strange, I'm a christian and I should be fine about that since I believe in heaven, but half of me still doubts it and it gets to me sometimes, it sucks man.

It's best to think death is not total oblivion. In many ways, people benefiting from the things you did while you were alive is another form of existence.

When you die, your consciousness just stops existing. That's all there is to it really, there's no evidence that heaven/hell/purgatory/limbo/reincarnation/ghosts/spirits exist.

However, that doesn't mean everything is pointless. You should still try to enjoy life, and strive to make the world better - not because you'll be rewarded after death, but because your actions are your mark on history. You may not exist centuries from now, and it's unlikely you'll be remembered, but that's no reason not to try to bring happiness to yourself and others, since that's really the only thing that matters.
