boss battles is a symbol of blockland and now that the undoubtedly most popular one is dead we should at least try to make one a major new one that runs a while.

i've actually been working on one for a few weeks or so and it's not nearing completion since I need this coded as well as some private addons madman fists/lasers from pecons for the current plan to be done. but I'm doing the map and other stuff like classes in-game

i dont want boss battles to die just because pecon stopped hosting it, i feel that the gamemode can be improved on and can be fun all around if effort is put into it. me and everyone else's goal here is to make one that makes genuine attempts at being different from pecons (because lets be honest, it got old), whilst still being fun to play and not complete garbage.

There's a lot that could be done very differently (for better or maybe worse) in this new server, especially in regards to pacing and the overall presence of the boss. I feel like the arenas should be less complicated and large, and ideally each boss should get it's own arena (or at least there could be a selection of smaller arenas to choose from).

I doubt many of you were able to play on Bushido's old boss server that he hosted years ago, but I feel that he got the whole "grand boss fight" thing done really well, and I'd base this new server off of his more than Pecon's.

and yea, im really trying to emphasize the fact that this isnt meant to be a full-on copy of pecons. the plan is to definitely change some things up about how the game works.

thought of a buncha stupid and dumb weapons that could be used in here for some randomizer/chaos mode (once someone brings them to life, anyways) or that can be used anywhere (again, once someone brings them to life)
feel free to criticize or something, i'm giving them stats too
you can also think of a nerf/buff for these things

judging from the polls as of right now, seems that we're better off using the standard class system. question i was having tho was, what classes should we have? i'd like to refrain from having the same exact classes that pecons has.

make something more like VS saxton hale from tf2. i lvoed that

i felt the classes in pecons boss battles for boss were WAY too overpowered, so if some better balance was struck there i feel that'd be great

just fresh new classes and bosses really and new original maps

shoot maybe reusing the old bedroom with static shape bedroom map would be great'

 just structure the classes and bosses as close to tf2 as possible and i will be very happy

Ze Operator's exists. Two boss battles would be boring and people would complain on what game has what. Also, no tf2 pls, pecons literally just died.

Edit: I would love this, but come on, is boss battles THAT popular to be honest?

Yes. The fact that there are about 3 threads related to Pecon's server dying is evidence enough that there is an audience for it.

A class idea I had (and experimented with when Visolator was developing his boss battles some time in the summer) was a class that functioned sort of like engineer but instead of building automatic sentries, he would built man operated turrets and stuff. I'm not sure what add-on it was that viso had but there was a crossbow turret and a cannon turret that could be planted. The idea is that people could pick that class and fortify a certain area and pretty much stay put and hold the area, and giving classes with lesser combat abilities (such as medics) a better alternative to wimpy secondary weps.

I JUST HAD AN IDEA.
The player's boss is the only way to capture the point, or maybe if players are around the boss, players deal extra damage to the enemy boss. or just escort the fat forget to the end of the map

i actually remember playing with this and it was very nice. you could still deal ample damage from a safe distance as any class and now that you reminded me of it this class is going into my development.
speaking of which the map is under construction and the class functions will come after that, then as a side priority the randomizer rounds, then the specific add-ons I need maybe, and then it is a playable project. if I don't lose motivation it might be done before the week is here
