I never said you were against it, throughout any of my posts (saying you used a fallacy doesn't count since I think you're still trying to make up your mind on it, finding counterarguments is part of that process). Should I make some crazy insult about how you have a viral infection because you assumed something incorrect? No, because that would be supporting the extreme degradation of political discussion that has grabbed this forum by the balls. Everyone makes mistakes, that's okay.

I actually did make a mistake though, I meant to say "guilt by association" instead of ad hominem. If I say that Carl Marx was pro-free-speech for example that doesn't lessen my argument, it's just an irrelevant fact that contributes nothing, especially when so much other evidence has already been provided (This is particularly relevant for Net Neutrality).

is a 72 virgins joke applicable yet

forget i forgot to contact Flake about the tax bill
which, for the record, is A) at least as important/damaging as net neutrality, probably more and B) congress can actually do something about it

--- Quote from: Tactical Nuke on December 01, 2017, 07:58:10 PM ---not what I'm saying

if you took a stance on something and said "See? Even Charles Manson and Vladimir Lenin supported this! Get on board!" then that's pretty loving laughable at best and self-defeating at worst

i mean you're right that it's a piss-poor argument (popularity does not make the truth) but are you really implying that Sanders = Lenin

--- End quote ---
to be fair, usually when you argue with someone it's because you disagree with them
