I think it's also rare in programming that one learns better with a teacher instead of learning by fiddling with things
in computer science, that may be a bit different

I can understand where you are coming from with this. My buddy couldn't learn jack-squat unless he had someone there walking him through each process, step by step wiki-how style
I guess it just depends on what you are learning, and if you have any knowledge in that field already
