Amos Yee: Why Child research Should be Legal
Shift Kitty:
Begging for a place to live.
But choosing the requirements for living there.
What a guy.

For a child enthusiast, indulgence in child research is a slippery slope. It's crossing the line from suppressing their urges to indulging in them. Anyone who's been addicted to research knows that it leads them to increasingly hardcore material. For non-child enthusiasts, this can lead to shifty Kraigslist hookups were they engage in bondage or watersports. Weird, but it's between consenting adults and no one's really getting hurt. child enthusiasts, however, can't just find some weirdo on the Internet to fulfill their needs. They have to seek out children who are incapable of consenting (there may be some grey area there; but for overwhelming majority of cases, this truth holds). Of course, there are many child enthusiasts who keep their urges under wraps. But in most online circles where creepphilic material is circulated, many consumers are also producers (creepphilic material is often circulated in private chat rooms, where material is traded between members).
As much as it sucks to be loveually repressed, it may be necessary for the good of children to stigmatize child enthusiasm, both legally and culturally. It provides a huge disincentive to child enthusiasts to engage in abusive activities.
On the contrary, it could be argued that the stigmatization of child enthusiasm fosters a "forget what the world thinks" attitude, increasing the like likelihood that child enthusiasts will choose to abuse children. Giving them a way the satisfy their loveual needs in a way that doesn't (directly) harm anyone.
Also, there's already legal creepphilic material in the form of cartoons. For example, "loli" (hentai) and "cubs" (yiff / furry research). Plus, a lot of child enthusiasts get off on simply watching videos of children on YouTube. For instance, there's child enthusiasts on YouTube who find innocent videos of children--sometimes family videos or webcam videos that were accidentally posted--which they compile into playlists for other child enthusiasts to view.
This is all ignoring the fact, however, that the production of child research necessitates child abuse. Destigmatizing child research would lead more closeted child enthusiasts to view such material, increasing its demand, increasing the incentive to produce child research, and therefore likely increasing the incidence of research-driven child abuse.

I doubt many non-child enthusiasts are coming out in support of it. There's a been some article here and there on child enthusiast acceptance. But a few of those have since been taken down. To me, it just looks like more child enthusiasts are coming out of the closet.
That being said, I do feel the LGBT movement is somewhat to blame for this. I'm bi myself, but I abhor the LGBT movement. It was fine in the early days, roughly 1940s to 1960s. But now we have pride parades filled with deviant loveual activity. We should be promoting homoloveuals and biloveuals to form stable, monogamous relationships and raise kids. They wanted to subvert heteronormative prejudice, which was fair. But they threw the baby out with the bath water. It's no surprise that child enthusiasts are now riding the coattails of the LGBT movement, which can be explicitly seen in their writing (lots of social justice lingo).
